On February 7, the Hsinchu City Government held the official opening ceremony for Zhufeng Fish Market at Hsinchu Harbor. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, with many citizens lining up early in the morning to receive promotional "multiplied vouchers," creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Mayor Kao Hung-An attended the ceremony to interact with the public, distributing symbolic red envelopes to wish everyone good fortune. She also extended her best wishes to the vendors for a prosperous start and a successful business year.
Mayor Kao stated that the opening of Zhufeng Fish Market injects new vitality into Hsinchu Harbor, providing a lifestyle hub that combines shopping, dining, and scenic waterfront views. The market is organized into two primary zones. The first is the "Fresh Catch Market" located near Dongda Road, which features 86 stalls specializing in fresh seafood. This section opened on the first day to help residents stock up on high-quality ingredients before the Lunar New Year. The second area is the "Seafood Tasting Zone" situated near Boguang Market. This two-story dining space will house 14 restaurants offering diverse seafood delicacies. It is currently undergoing final preparations and is expected to open by late February once operational stability and dining quality are fully ensured.
In her remarks, Mayor Kao shared that she had sampled a variety of fresh and succulent seafood the day before. She expressed her gratitude to the vendors and fishermen for their cooperation during the construction period and for their hard work in preparing for the launch, which allowed Zhufeng Fish Market to make an outstanding debut.
